Here are some photos from our flight over as we prepare for our bike trip fundraiser supporting the Arava Institute. The first two are actually of our last training ride in Chicago. As promised, you will be seeing more of Jackie, my new collaborator and my roommate on the trip.

Getting the bikes to the airport, then leaving them with the Courier with an SUV too small (see the back of that white car?). We are all hoping all four bikes will show up in two day’s time to be assembled for our ride Wednesday morning. (today is Sunday)

The driver from my first trip to Israel in April, 2024, Eyad, hooked us up with another driver to take us from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem. Me and Jackie in the back of his van, not looking too bad here after 36 hours awake!

Day one in Jerusalem from the top of our hotel and night walk back to hotel, after dinner at an all vegetarian restaurant connected to a jazz cafe with surprisingly extensive improv. Maybe only surprising since they are playing muzak covers when we walked in.
Check next post for day two, two days before we start the actual ride.
